CLAVERDON PRIMARY SCHOOL

The inspectors agree with the school’s view that it provides a good education, with some outstanding features. Standards are above average and by Year 6, pupils achieve well.

Home-School Partnership

We strive to promote an effective partnership between home and school based on mutual understanding and trust.

To this end we endeavour to be a very open school, sharing as much information as possible with you. We do this through regular newsletters which include details of whole school events. The staff also write to parents at the beginning of each new term explaining their class work for each topic.

Copies of all school Policies are always available for you to read in the school office.

In addition, parents come into school to share in class assemblies and open days. They also have termly opportunities to meet their class teacher on a formal basis to discuss their child’s progress. There is a family open morning on the last Friday of each month, when parents are invited into school from 8.35 am with their children to look through their work and share their achievements. Many then stay for merit assembly when a wide range of achievements are celebrated.

We are fortunate and grateful to have considerable parental support at Claverdon - ranging from parents working with children in school to very practical help with the school's development.
