Starting School

Many children currently entering school have already attended nursery or playgroup, or have experienced other childcare facilities. However, "School" by its very nature and size is still the biggest challenge that children have to face in their early years. We aim to make the transition from home to school as smooth as possible.
Parents are most welcome to visit the school before making a decision to enrol their child. An appointment can be made by telephone with the school secretary.
A series of visits is organised for parents and children during the Summer Term preceding the child entering school. Parents are warmly invited to see the school at work and to introduce their child to the school atmosphere. A "Ready-for-School" meeting is also held to explain procedures and curricular matters, ensuring a smooth transition from home to school.
