Year 5 children study the Ancient Greeks, the Victorians and they also study coastlines in the Summer term. As part of that topic they travel to the Isle of Wight with PGL.

In the Isle of Wight, they study coastal formations, rockpools and do landuse surveys. They also visit Osborne house, Carisbrooke castle, the Needles and Alum bay whilst staying in Sandown.

Class 5 visit the Black County Museum and have a visit from local firemen to talk about fire safety in their homes.

The children have responsibility for the Lunchtime menu board and for running a stall at Spring Fayre. Class 5 pairs with Class 1 for local visits and fill the posts of Librarians as well as taking part in an Indoor athletics tournament and a Photography workshop.
