In History, Class 2 study Florence Nightingale, the Great Fire of London and Remembrance Day. The children have a visit from the school nurse when studying Florence Nightingale and visit the Fire Station in relation to the Great Fire of London. In Geography, they study Mexico, islands through Katy Morag stories, and have a bear called Barnaby Bear which they take on holiday and get his passport stamped. The study of Mexico is supplemented by a visit by Mr and Mrs Bridges (parents). The children can take Barnaby Bear away with them, at home or abroad, have a photograph taken or bring back a momento. We will then locate the destination on a map and explore the places he has been to. He needs to be booked in advance please!!
In Science, the children study forces, electricity, plants and animals in different habitats, healthy life style, changing materials and variations in plants and animals.
Class 2 also have a visit from a member of the British Legion for Remembrance Day as well as visiting Charlecote House and Park (linked to Florence Nightingale and Victorian England and also animals in different habitats) and the village Church.
