Here in our Reception class we have an active learning environment in indoor and outdoor classrooms where high quality play and learning is supported by knowledgeable and skilful adults. The children learn not only knowledge and skills but positive attitudes towards learning which will stay with them for life.
The Early Years Foundation Stage
The The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) refers to the stage of children’s development from 0 – 5 years. In school, this obviously relates to the Reception year.
During the summer term before the children start school parents are invited to an induction evening in order to ease transition into school and to give parents the opportunity to meet members of staff.
A further informal meeting which focuses more on the Curriculum and ways that skills are taught takes place early in the Autumn term.
